The Washington Post · Moving Past ‘diversity decoration.’
I illustrated this piece for the Washington Post about the lack of diversity in writers' rooms and how some Black TV writers often felt like "diversity decoration". It was used for the cover page of Sunday's Art & Style section.
You can read the article written by Sonia Rao it here.
Art Directors & Designers: Clare Ramirez & Audrey Valbuena.
The illustration features Ashley Nicole Black, Cord Jefferson, Lena Waithe, Melody Cooper, Michelle Amor, Prentice Penny, Monica Macer, and Zahir McGhee. The individual portraits were used next to pull-out quotes throughout the article.
